Humans went to Paris

kirk_profile_2We’ve told you before and we are repeating: humans are weird! And understanding them is the secret key to a happy life. Because if you release the leash a little bit they have the impression of freedom and they come back to us more energetic.

So, we said nothing few months ago when our humans booked tickets to Paris for two days. We had a feeling it won’t be a good idea given the fact the baby was too small and the weather too hot, but we kept our mouths shut. Our only concern was who was going to feed us those two days. But the hf found a reliable person…

That colleague of her had no idea about veggie portioning so we’ve got plenty of them. Also true for the pellets. The fun part was that she was not cleaning our cages too, so on Friday evening when the humans came back we had piles of leftovers in our pens. Thanks all gods the hf was busy with the baby and the hm forgot to mention this to her.

The two days at home without the humans were very useful for us because we finally got some time on our own. Lately, due to the baby, the hf is always around and we had no time to listen to our thoughts. So we took the chance and analyzed our feelings regarding the little biped. We must admit that even if it was a little bit shocking in the beginning, now it gets better. And starting September they will be out of the house during the day so we go back to some normality.

Now we’ve found the photos from Paris in her laptop and I must admit I have no idea why someone would leave home for two days just to see a bunch of iron pieces…

Holly mother of paper bags!

kirk_profile_2There are months now since the hf was storing clean paper bags in another paper bag. First I thought it was a variation of a cultural habit. The Western Europeans have this weird habit: store plastic bags in another plastic bag just in case… So, I really believed the paper bags had an unknown and non understandable (from my point of view) purpose.

The not so funny part was that they were stored in under our nose. And everybody knows that we love paper bags. As cats adore boxes, we love paper bags filled with hay. So having them in front of our eyes and not being able to chew and play was not at all funny. Data and Spock were convinced the bags were for us, but Worf and I were sceptical. I mean the bags were there for months and I saw no intention from the hf to move them in our pen.

But few days ago a miracle happened. Suddenly a paper bag showed up in our room and one in the one of the white piggies. Data and Spock had no issue to share their bag. Spock even “renovated” the bag and produced a hole in the back to have a fire exit. But Worf and I had no intention to share. Honestly, who could imagine that two big piggies like us would fit in one bag?

So for two days we had paper bags in our rooms and the tunnels were forgotten. Of course we peed and pooped in the bags, and they got stinky, but that’s the joy of it!

First water melon of the season

kirk_profile_2We have a varied diet. At least our humans are trying hard to offer us this. But sometimes is difficult due to the local suppliers. For example, finding kale or radicchio can be a real challenge for the hf. But she knows she needs to diversify according to the season, so she really searches veggies and fruits that we would enjoy.

The other the day she was out with the baby and entered a supermarket to search for kale. Usually they have it but lately they are going through a renovation and their stock was a little bit reduced. Of course there was no kale. Nor radicchio. But she found water melon. And she thought it got cheap enough to buy one.

So she brought home a small water melon and offered us along with some spinach. Worf and me ate it normally. I mean it’s just melon and the human will provide more for us. I’m pretty sure of this. So no rush, no need to hide with it.

But Spock and Data did what they know best… Data tried to hide a piece in a wood house, but Spock caught him and he was forced to share. Or maybe Data was just trying to offer the chunk to Spock. I have no idea.

The truth is that we enjoyed our melon and we are looking forward for the next portion. Also we are very curious to see what other season fruits and veggies we will receive.

P.S. The photos of Spock and Data after they had the melon are censored (they look like they just had some blood).
